Chemical peeling: The process that restores skin vitality

Chemical peeling involves applying various chemical agents to the skin to renew and revitalize the skin. The aim of this method is to peel off the top layer of skin and reveal a healthier and more vibrant layer. As the worn and tired layer of skin is shed, the fresh and healthy layer of skin underneath is revealed. This results in a brighter, fresher, firmer and smoother complexion. Chemical peeling involves applying acid-based chemical agents to the skin.

Chemical peeling application details

Chemical peeling generally uses alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) such as glycolic acid and lactic acid. These acids are compounds that occur naturally in sugar beets and milk. Thanks to the small molecules of these substances, they easily penetrate the epidermis, the top layer of the skin. However, they cannot affect deeper layers. AHAs increase the skin’s resistance to external factors by stimulating the renewal of skin cells. They can also be effective in treating superficial skin blemishes.

In chemical peeling with salicylic acids (BHA), the effect is more superficial to the epidermis. This type of peeling is particularly preferred in the treatment of skin problems such as acne, blackheads and whiteheads. It can also be used to treat secondary skin blemishes.

Chemical peeling usually takes 5–10 minutes and can be repeated at intervals of 2–4 weeks. After 6-8 sessions, a significant improvement in the skin’s appearance can be observed. After the procedure, crusting may occur on the skin. These peels should not be peeled and should be protected from the sun. Moisturizers recommended by the doctor should be used.

Chemical peeling is an effective method that accelerates the skin’s natural renewal process and restores the skin’s vitality.
